And yes, the majority of teens LIE about it.

yes men having sex gets you a lot of respect and coolness (depending on the girl). For girls the more they have sex the less respect people will have for her but her coolness will not be affected because more guys will like her because she is a slut but less girls will like her because she is a slut. And yes but only guys who have never had sex before lie or girls who have had sex before lie (except when talking to parents which all teens lie)How does having sex relate to being popular?Yes, I do think some teens lie about it to be "popular". How do you want to be popular? A boy who has lots of sex will not make himself more popular except maybe with guys. If a girl has sex on the first date she'll be really popular with guys for one date. Also that girl will attract guys who are looking for sex and nothing else.



If you want to be popular for more than one date, then be a nice person to people. Ask them about themselves and be interested in them. If you get interested in somebody else they might get interested in you! Of course I don't mean be a helicopter who hangs around them all the time. Let them take the lead some too.



I think lots of teens lie and it's like this. Somebody who never had sex will often say they did, and somebody who has lots of sex will often say they had less. I never lied. I'm a 22 year old virgin and I'm not ashamed to say it. And I've had lots of dates and French kissed about 50 people! ;)



Somebody said fifteen percent of teens are having sex? Sorry that's not right. Check the link below that says a fourth had sex between age 11 and 16 in low income areas. The average first sex was boys was at 12 years old and for girls it was when they were 13 years old.



But if you count all, half of boys have sex by 16 and half of girls have it by 17.
