Most doctors recommend taking one pack (one month's worth) before you start relying on it as your primary form of birth control.

Call your doctor, and have him/her explain to you how the pill works. If you have unprotected sex minutes before you start birth control can you still get pregnat?
your supposed to take the pill for one month before having unprotected sex. the reason is IT WON'T PROTECT AGAINST PREGNANCY FOR THE FIRST MONTH!!!!!!! didn't you read the insert and why didn't your doctor tell you this before hand? Always read the information about your medication so that you don't make mistakes with it.If you have unprotected sex minutes before you start birth control can you still get pregnat? You need to take the pill for several weeks (mine took a month) before it's effective. Read the booklet if you haven't done so already.

FYI: if you don't take it exactly on time each day or miss doses, it becomes less effective as well.
where did you get your pills? you obviously did not get them from a doctor. if you had you would know you need to be on BC for at least a month before you are ok to have unprotected sex.
