I know ultrasounds are not 100% accurate with determining the sex of the baby...But just how likely Is it to be wrong? How accurate or ultrasounds at identifying The sex of your baby?It depends on the expertise of the technician reading the ultrasound, how far along you are at the time of the ultrasound, and the position of the baby. If you're far enough along for the sex organs to have developed (usually around 20 weeks) and your baby decides to show you his/her business, a good tech will be able to tell you with a very high degree of accuracy whether your baby is a boy or a girl. If the baby doesn't move into a position that gives you a good look, the technician might have to make an educated guess - in which case he/she should tell you it's a best guess. The most common mistake is a tech telling parents that their baby is a girl when it's really a boy. It's not enough to just not see a penis. To know the baby is a girl, you have to see 'girl parts'. Mistakes happen, but they're becoming less and less common. How accurate or ultrasounds at identifying The sex of your baby?
well with my first i found out at 14 weeks that he was a boy and again at 22 weeks confirmed a boy, with my 2nd i found out she was a girl at around 18 weeks, with this baby i just found out at 28 weeks, (33 weeks now) that its a girl, i saw the picture and i think there is no denying that she is a girl, so for at least 2 of mine it was 100 percent i will know in 5.5 weeks if the last was trueHow accurate or ultrasounds at identifying The sex of your baby?Well my first u/s said boy.. the last 2 said girl.. I am 22 weeks now and we are going to do a 4D u/s with a different tech to get another opinion. I have heard horror stories about them being wrong several times, I guess it mainly depends on the technician who does your u/s and their level of experience, as well as the baby cooperating to "show" during the u/s
I think it depends on the Ultrasound Tech. The ultrasound picture isn't really the one "telling" you what sex your baby is. The Ultrasound Tech, rather, is the one identifying the actual body part and determining whether or not you're having a boy or girl.
On my ultra sound, it was definitely showing us he was a boy...there was NO doubt about it. I believe it's harder to tell with a girl though....just don't get so set on the idea of what your tech tells you you're having because there is the chance that he/she could be wrong....

They are pretty accurate. They can be wrong, depending on shadows and all kinds of other stuff. Just depends on how good the tech is I guess.
Well, when my mom was pregnant with me they told her I was a boy and I came out a girl, so go figure. =)How accurate or ultrasounds at identifying The sex of your baby?
