I am not against same sex, I have a school debate project and need some peoples thoughts about it. How it influences youth, suppose children grow up in school and are made fun of for having 2 dads/moms?(Thats an example) Any feedback to help me with my debate would be nice. What do you think about making same sex marriage illegal?i dont see any problem with same sex marriage. if two people love each other, whats the difference? its not going to change my life if two men or two women get married. they should have all the same rights as everyone else. What do you think about making same sex marriage illegal?
There are already families with two moms or two dads. Children will not be adversely affected by having same sex parents, if the parents love each other and are loving parents the children will develop healthy attitudes about sexuality. When I was a kid, I only had one friend who was in a single parent household. No one made fun of her at school for not having a dad.
Parents need to teach tolerance for all religions, races, and minorities, including gays and lesbians. Schools need to reinforce those teaching.
My brother in law is gay, married and I have always trusted him around my children. He has been a good influence in their lives, helping them learn that homosexuality isn't something to be shuned. What do you think about making same sex marriage illegal? It is my personal opinion that marriage should be between a man and a woman. That is the most natural thing.
That being said I don't go out of my way protesting gays. I intend to teach my daughter that a family is simply the people that love you. (Whether is be a man and a woman, 2 men, 2 women, a single mom, your grandparents, etc.) I am not married and have never been married so it wouldn't logical for me to try and tell her that the only people that deserve children and a married man and woman couple that love each other you know.
Children can be made fun of for any number of things. Having 2 moms or 2 dads would not be any different. I mean these days even if you have the normal mom and dad but lets say one of your parents was kinda big there is a pretty decent chance that someone is going to start making fun of that. Or on of your parents might have a birthmark or something else it could be made fun of. Children are cruel and they make fun of anything that seems different to them or something they don't see of a regular basis. I don't think having same sex parents would be any more traumatic than anything else.
I still support same sex marriage but that is just the conservative side of me and that is simply because I don't see the appeal of being with another girl. I mean I look forward to marriage for many reasons but one of them is the physical aspect of it and the whole making babies thing with my husband.
Our country based the Constitution on having freedoms.......
*freedom of religion
*freedom of press
*freedom to bare arms, etc......
So why should part of the population dominate the decision whether or not same sex partners should be married?
Insurance and estate laws are written that one has to be married to have entitlement.
So even if you don't believe in marriage, you're screwed.
Maybe if those laws were rewritten there wouldn't be a need for people to marry at all. What do you think about making same sex marriage illegal?I guess you could say I'm more of a liberal person who thinks people should be able to do whatever they choose for themselves, whether it be same sex marriage, abortion or whatever.
I don't think it should be illegal. Marriage is supposed to be about love and commitment and if two of the same sex partners have found that, then let them be. It isn't hurting you or I. What do you think about making same sex marriage illegal?
nobody has to except anything they don't feel comfortable with, you don't have to be friends with same sex couples and have them over at your house for dinner. but you should be tolerant . they deserve to go shopping and out to public places without snickering and getting dirty looks. and whether it is legal or not people are going to do it anyway. i believe they deserve to have their legal rights protected. they deserve to make medical decisions and have financial protection just like everyone else because like it or not they are a family.
Although it shouldnt be up to anyone who gets to decide that same sexes should marry, I believe this world could be a little more out of control. Im not judging anyone but when it comes to the children I dont think they can really understand it and it might make them a little confused. I see little kids now who go through fads of one day wanting to be straight and the next week there gay. The world is confusing enough. What do you think about making same sex marriage illegal?
People are married once they have sex. No one needs a government certificate to consider themselves married.
Homosexuals are not monogamous by nature and generally have gigantic amounts of sex partners. Legitimizing such lewd behavior by making it officially legal is an abomination.
What's the point? that's gross! there's a man and a woman and they can't even fit together and stay married and you want to know how the same sex can stay together? You're weird. What school are you going to? Gays r Us? Blah
If 2 dudes get married, that doesn't effect me
So I shouldn't interfere with their happiness just because it makes me feel weird.
People are culturally intolerant and it leads to very ugly things =(.
I believe that the basis of marriage is love.
I also believe two men or two women can love each other.
According to the transitive property, gays can thus be wed.
:)
Placing my religious beliefs aside, We are biologically not made for same sex.
Marriage == One man, one woman, no exceptions.
Okay from an academic perspective.
One could say the historical evidence is a great argument.
I mean when a thing whether it is homosexuality, or drugs. when a thing has been illegal in every society on the planet for over two thousand years there is a good chance that there is a reason why.
The evidence again suggests that a monogamous relationship between two men is rare even today when it is "legal" in many places. The lifestyle still seems to be predominately based on lots of casual sex with lots of partners.
The advent and spread of aids could be used as a pro or a con for gay marriage. I mean the fact that it has been characterized as a gay disease is well known, and it is corroborated by the fact that it's spread was
documented in news and film, as being a gay infection and epidemic.
Being married has been a government method of controlling disease since before the bible was thought up. However as I stated earlier, statistics are showing that very few homosexuals, (even those with legal marriage certificates) have an exclusive relationship but tend to,"swing", at the drop of a hat.
The fact that it is subterfuge in order to make claims against insurance, as well as pension, and other institutional entitlements are going to create an unbearable strain on a system that is already over drawn. Will, eventually cause the system to collapse, leaving women and children out in the cold. One could point out that this is exactly the scenario put forth in the revelation of John, the last book in the Bible.
The fact that since the "change" of perspective concerning political correctness and homosexuality the population of gays, has tipped to Sodamatic proportions. Leaving me for one to doubt and validity to the claim that homosexuality is a genetic trait. Since in nature no population of any speices with more than one sex is ever above 15% homosexual.
We have more than that just in San Francisco.
I can't imagine any child being raised in a situation like this becoming anything except a homosexual. I do not have the stats on that so...
We could say that just as marijuana has been deemed to lead to harder drug use, this new legality of a perversion, will lead to harder degenerations such as pedophilia. This has actually already happened using the same methods as the gay movement. The APA, has stated emphatically that sex with children is "normal"..
I hope this has helped, one more thing. The advent of this lifestyle is still relativily new since it was vehemently hated by the majority and illegal just thirty yaers ago.
