I got a Tropical Girdled Lizard backin June, thinking it was an armidillo lizard. When the lady brought it to my house I asked her what sex it was and she told me she didnt know and it was almost impossible to sex them, so I left it at that. I have recently been thinking about getting another one and I was wondering if there is a way I can find out the sex of my lizard. How can i find the sex of my tropical girdled lizard?Tropical Girdled Lizards ( Cordylus tropidosternum ) like many other lizards species can be distinguished between the males and females by observing the femoral pores. Pick up the lizard, turn it upside down and take a careful look at the base of the tail. If you can see prominent and enlarged pores (called femoral pores) and a bulge on the sides, it is a male. If otherwise then it is a female. This lizard gives birth to live litters of up to 3 young ones. If you're thinking of breeding them ...good luck to you...How can i find the sex of my tropical girdled lizard?take it to a vet to get it probe, that is the only positive way to find the sex of a reptile. do not probe yourself cuz you may harm the animal so just make an appointment with your vet.Good LuckHow can i find the sex of my tropical girdled lizard?take off its girdle? How can i find the sex of my tropical girdled lizard?
